While it’s a great video, I have to disagree with the tagline, “We voted for it,” and the statement from the Department of Culture that the coalition is “the government that 63% of Canadians voted for.”
Yes, 63% of us didn’t vote for the Conservatives, and that’s an important fact. But coalition was never discussed during the campaign, no one voted FOR that.
I strongly support the coalition. I’m a member and big fan of the Department of Culture, but statements that twist things around are one of the things I hate about politics. We don’t need to do that to make our point.

We didn’t make the video so it’s hard to respond…In the end though, in a parliamentary system, all you do is vote for an MP. You don’t vote for a Prime Minister or a government….
In terms of “the government that 63% of Canadians voted for.” there is such a disparity between Harper’s policies and the policies of everyone else, that although we didn’t vote for the coalition explicitly 63% did express a desire to see the coalition’s policies enacted.
